IF YOU WANT TO DANCE IT’S OK
The project “IF YOU WANT TO DANCE IT’S OK” examines the erosion of identity, the construction of anonymity, and the passive acceptance of how others define our presence in society. Shopper bags—symbols of disposability and consumerism—become masks that transform faces into commodities, easily consumed and discarded. With markers, the artist redraws the wearer’s features onto the plastic surface, overlaying personal identity with their own interpretation. The result is a series of disembodied, floating shopping bags—objects briefly animated by human presence, then discarded like the very identities they obscure.
